Have just put the finishing touches to my latest set of prints.

This body of work is titled 'Mind how you go' in memory of my late Father-in-law, Roy Sweeting.

There are a few recurring themes in my work and at the moment I am interested in pomp and ceremony - whether it be in the military, the sporting arena or even the media circus that surrounds a movie star. But I also love how all that pomp and ceremony flows over into the animal world too. Lately I have been interested in birds and their plumage and in particular how the male bird is often the most decorated of the species. And as this little bird knows, it's good to dream.

Brighton Cock - more colours added

Because summer is on its way (hopefully), I have added three more colours to the Brighton Cock series - it comes in yellow, green, blue and of course, also in the original red.

'Art in Mind' group exhibition at The Brick Lane Gallery

I am currently working on some new pieces that will be included in the 'Art in Mind' group exhibition at The Brick Lane Gallery from 21 September to 4 October 2010.

The exhibition not only encourages emerging British art but also has a strong international flavour and features a mix of urban, graphic and contemporary artists.

Stay tuned for a glimpse of what will be included in the show.

I love getting post - not bills or crappy direct mail - but nice cards with a real written message. Thought that my Chin Up poster would be cool as a set of cards - send one at a time to a friend and by the time they get all 6, they'll either think you're a stalker or be cheered up no end.

Mr Purnam Sticker Art

I have been making my own stickers for a while now and it all started with the Chin Up message. When I did the first Chin Up sticker, I wanted to see something positive on the street and so stuck it on my local bin. And it's slowly grown from there. Mustn't have been feeling too positive the day the broken heart arrived - you can see all my stickers on flickr - just follow the link on the bottom right.

I received some great news.

'Trampoline' made it through to the final 5 for judging.

The winner is announced Thursday 28th January 2010.

Trampoline

This is my entry into artrepublic's Street Art competition with StreetSmart, a charity that helps the homeless in the UK. A great competiton for a great cause - as all proceeds go to StreetSmart.

The main idea behind 'Trampoline' is one of hope. I was inspired by Charlie Chaplin's character, The Tramp - no matter how difficult the situation, he believes that as long as he behaves with the manners and dignity of a gentleman, that he is one and that with some hope, he can one day be a part of society again.

My character is holding up a sign, 'Homeless, not Hopeless' - he is holding it to challenge society's perception of what being homeless is. He hasn't lost his pride or hope, but with a bit of help there is a chance of turning his life around.

The work is titled 'Trampoline' because of the visual metaphor it evokes - to keep trying, to keep going, to move on to a better place. Fingers crossed to see how I get on.

One Fine Day

Another print in my hat series. Today it is raining and miserable, but somewhere else it is all sun, sand and surf.

Vitamin B-6

Another print in my hat series. I love how statically stoic he is. You don't know if he is going to break formation or break into a rendition of "I will survive." I like the idea of impending speed.

Chappy Original

Have just finished work on an original 'Chappy'. I tweaked his mouth so he was a little more pert - it makes him feel more surprised.

Acrylic, enamel, ink and spray paint on 10mm polyboard.
