Hold on to your hats

I am exhausted but I am surviving! The opening night of my Pause and Effect show was great. Lots of people, lots of interest and am chuffed with the sales too. It's not over yet - my show is on until Wednesday 9th November so swing by and say hello to me at space fiftyfour, 54 Rivington Street London EC2A 3QN. If you can't make it, the work is now on my site, www.mrpurnam.com, so happy clicking.

My solo show is fast approaching

Just dropped my work off at the framers and can loudly exhale.... for a bit at least.
Hope to see you all there for the Private View.
Wednesday 2nd November, 6.30pm onwards
Space Fiftyfour. 54 Rivington Street London EC2A 3QN

The work from my show will be available to buy on the opening night and throughout the exhibition. You can also buy online from Thursday 3rd November, 2011 at  www.mrpurnam.com . Each piece will only be an edition of 10, so don't be a slow poke.

Time out

Sunrise. Sunset. Nothing but tanning in between.

Private commission - a reworking of my 'C'mon, spill the beans' print

I have just finished work on this one off, hand finished commissioned print that will soon be going to its new owner. It's a reworking of 'C'mon, spill the beans' and is double the size of the original print. 'C'mon, spill the beans'
Hand finished giclee print with spray paint, gold ink and white pen.
655mm x 895mm

If anyone would like to commission a one off, hand finished print of any of my other work, let me know.

Below is a run down of how I created the print.
For some extra depth, I cut out a stencil and sprayed the pink outline.
Now comes the white pen work. I used to love dream catchers when I was a kid so I guess this is where this pattern comes from.
With a steady hand and some tunes, just got to keep going and hope that my pen doesn't run out.
Almost done!
The white pen work is complete.
Finally, added some extra sparkle with some gold ink. Nice!

Solo London show

Can now confirm that I will be having a solo show at 54 Rivington Street, Shoreditch. Opening night Wednesday 2nd November 2011. The exhibition will run until 8th November. More details to follow.

Studio snapshot

Have been working hard on some new work. Here's a sneak peek at my permanent marker action. Stay tuned for the great unveiling.

Mr Purnam Walk for Life print

In support of The Terrence Higgins Trust and their continued work to prevent the spread of HIV and improve sexual health, I have produced a limited edition print for this year's Walk For Life event.

Inspired by the walk's theme of The Wizard of Oz, I am releasing 'Lions, tigers & bears. Oh My!' with 20% of profits going directly to the Terrence Higgins Trust.

Part of an edition of 100, each Giclee print is emboss stamped, signed and numbered.
Size: 42cm x 59.4cm
Available to buy online for £75 at www.mrpurnam.com
Had a great afternoon screen printing with Fox and Jack recently at Ink Spot Press in Brighton. They hold the New Blood Print Club sessions once a month, so check them out. Photos are by Bex Wade. Keep your eyes peeled for the results.

More sticker action

Two friends have been spreading the Mr Purnam love recently. One showed up pride of place in Bondi (thanks Marsha) and another one on the slopes of Avoriaz, France (thanks Pete)

I love a good weekend rummage

It's the weekend and I've been trawling the local shops. I came across the perfect vintage gilded frame for a one-off artist's proof I did for my 'Done Deal' print.
Frame size: 49 x 38 cm
Image size: 35 x 24 cm
If anyone is interested it's £150.

Mr Purnam on Drymounted

Drymounted announced my arrival at Artrepublic so once again I am very chuffed!

Mr Purnam at Artrepublic

Great news. Some of my prints are now available online at artrepublic. Check them out and spread the word.
It's all been a bit quiet of late, as I am working on some new pieces. More to come shortly.
